Evelyn's DIY Kitchen Islands Makeover, Part 3

Hello Darlings,

This is a brief update. Yesterday, I was clumsy in applying the stain finish on the third countertop, and it showed badly. So today, I sanded it all off and started again. The results is the three beautifully chestnut glossy stained countertops (photo). Once these are dry I will move on to painting.

Evelyn's DIY Kitchen Islands Makeover

Hello Darlings,

Today, I have been working on a project that has delighted me and tested my artistic strengths and  patience. Below are a few pictures and two of the three videos showing my progress in transforming my three kitchen islands from their former color scheme into a unified trio of black, chestnut, and copper.

The black island, which I recently purchased, came with a natural wood countertop. I love it because of its two wide shelves that lets me store away large items. The middle island, I got last year, came in all natural wood, and the third island with the four drawers in front, also, came in natural wood, and I have had it for five years.  As a trio they have enough storage space for everything I use the most for cooking on any given day. However, I wanted them all the same in color and decor. So here I am, making my idea kitchen island trio a reality.

I will post the third and final video below after the completion of my project. I will also list the products I am using to make this transformation workable.  I used my cell phone to record these videos, so the quality isn't as the islands really look, but you get the idea.

TEXAS PETE'S DEEP FRYER BUFFALO WING

Generic Photo
Hello Darlings,

There are a lot of recipes for baked hot wings. However, some of us crave our hot wings deep fried and crispy with side dishes of wings sauce and dip. Below is my recipe to fit that craving.

TEXAS PETE'S DEEP FRYER BUFFALO WING

Ingredients
10-12  Frozen Chicken Wings
1 Jar Texas Pete's Buffalo Wing Sauce
1 Jar Marie's Chucky Blue Dip/Dressing.
Black Pepper
Goya Sazonador Total Seasoning
Canola Oil

Directions
  1. Fill deep fryer with fresh canola oil.
  2. Set deep fryer to preheat at 375 degrees. If using a large deep fryer that uses a lot of heat, set timer between 9-10 minutes. If not, follow your fryer's directions.
  3. Defrost and wash chicken wings.  Pat dry.
  4. Season lightly with Goya Sazonador Total Seasoning and black pepper
  5. Place wings in plastic bag  filled with enough flour to cover them. Shake, shake, shake.
  6. Before filling  basket with chicken wings, shake off enough flour so that wings are lightly coated.
  7.  Place basket into deep fryer.  Cover. Fry  for 9-10 minutes or until wings are done.
  8. Remove basket from deep fryer to drain excess oil and  cool wings on baking rack.
Serve wings with side dishes of Texas Pete Buffalo Wing Sauce and Marie's Chucky Blue Dip/Dressing. Enjoy.
Can't stand the heat, try this recipe with Texas Pete's Extra Mild Buffalo Wing Sauce.
